E commerce has also broadened the sense of global market as people can buy and sale goods and services to or from a person sitting overseas. Ecommerce has helped the consumers in many ways. E commerce provides a better insight about the product and services offered by a company. All the major retailers of the world have entered the business system of ecommerce because of the increasing use of it. In the initial stage of the ecommerce the startup companies captured the market share of well established conventional retailers only by using e commerce system for selling there product. Now the ecommerce has improved the service of each sector which has implemented the idea in their system. Due to ecommerce tourism sector has improved because now people do not have to go to the registration counter to get tickets for some place they can book their tickets online using various ecommerce sites. Banking services have drastically improved after the ecommerce system. Customers do not have to stand in queue for hours for some small things like checking balance, fund transfer etc. Ecommerce has also eased the tasks of HR managers of companies as the websites of most companies now have a career section where the aspirants can view the current openings in the company and apply for the suitable job. HR managers can view job application on the website and contact suitable applicant for further conversation. Many ecommerce sites provide facilities related to real estate business where people can get information about the different lands. Many sites like amazon, ebay, rediff have implemented the ecommerce system in the field of teaching. Study materials, books, journals, magazines etc. are available online and people can buy or subscribe them. Knowledge management system is another form of ecommerce which has improved the knowledge sharing system and has been beneficial for the education system. (Concept: Ecommerce) Banking Ecommerce E commerce in the banking sector is also known as internet banking as various tasks of banks is being done on internet. Banks have enabled electronic services to improve customer services and reduce the work load of the employees. All the normal daily bank jobs can now be done using the banks web portal. Following banking service have been transferred to the ecommerce system of the bank: Financial transactions are now being performed by using the banks online banking system or ecommerce system. These transactional services include presentation and payment of bills, fun transfer from one account to other account, investment facilities, and application for loans can be submitted on the ecommerce system of the bank. Customers can generate the periodic financial statements of their bank account by availing the internet banking facility of the bank. Long queues at the cash counter can be avoided by using the fund transfer facility on the ecommerce system of banks. ATM service is also a form of ecommerce system to transact cash without standing in long queues at the cash counter. Other non transactional services like getting bank statements and checking balance in the account are also being performed on the ecommerce system of banks. (Silvain de munck, 2001) Driving forces of Ecommerce in Banking Sector Following are the three major forces that support the use of ecommerce system in the banking sector: Economic forces: This is one the most important benefits of the ecommerce system in the banking sector. Ecommerce system are economic efficient as the cost of communication is reduced, one time investment in the infrastructure establishment will be cheaper than appointing extra staff to attend more customers, electronic transactions will be faster and more economic and better customer services can be provided on comparatively low cost. Ecommerce system of banks will also enable effective communication between all the branches and a centralized database of customers and their information can be maintained by using ecommerce system in banks. Market forces: Internet banking facilities are proved to be an extra advantage for the marketing of banks. Internet banking provides better and enhanced customer services and support. Internet is he best way of marketing in todayà ¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚ ¢s global scenario. Technology forces: Advancement in technology is another major force for implementing ecommerce system in the banking sector. In this competitive era every organization has to walk parallel with the latest tools and technologies otherwise they will loose competitive advantage in the market. There has been much advancement in the internet security which has made the ecommerce a more reliable and secures way of banking. (Silvain de munck, 2001) Conclusion Ecommerce is the technical way of selling and purchasing goods or services. Implementation of ecommerce in each sector has improved the performance and efficiency of that sector. The banking sector has taken huge advantage from the ecommerce or internet banking system. Ecommerce has reduced the pressure of employees of banks and increased the level of customer services. The customers of banks are now happier and satisfied as they are also feeling relaxed with the advanced ecommerce system of banks. Many economic, marketing and technological forces have attracted the banking sector towards the ecommerce system. The current advanced technology has made the ecommerce system a more secure, reliable and easy system for day to day banking tasks.

New grading policy

In the present paper, I would like to provide my arguments against the new grading policy, whose nature is random selection of grades. In fact, there are two points of its fallibility: the fact that it actually measures students’ luck rather than their true achievements and that it destroys the entire purpose of education as the process of gaining knowledge and skills. First of all, it is necessary to define the term â€Å"grading†. According to the Educational Policies Committee, grading is â€Å"the main symbolic method of recording the evaluation of a student’s academic performance† (Educational Policies Committee, 1991). Evaluation, in turn, can be defined as assessment of the value of individual achievements, according to the existing educational standards. Education, according to Fuhrmann and Grasha (1983), is â€Å"the development of knowledge, skills and character of students through continuous motivation† (Fuhrmann and Grasha, 1983, p.156). As one can understand, the new grading policy does not set up the interrelation between the student’s academic attainments and performance and the symbolic mark, letter or figure. Those learners whose achievements are poorer have an opportunity to receive higher grades through random selection method, whereas more successful and hard-working students might fail in terms of grade. Consequently, one can sum up that the new policy actually measures the person’s luck, as the grade does not depend upon their efforts, skills or abilities. Furthermore, given the definition of education, it is possible to assume that the new grading policy contradicts to the purpose of college or university studies. This principle of grading does not motivate students to develop the necessary knowledge and skills, as their performance is not appropriately evaluated, i.e. the truth about the value of achievement is distorted. Therefore, students, being aware of the fact that the true information about their attainment will not be provided, are unlikely to work on their academic performance and lose the willingness to succeed. To sum up, a positive appraisal of one’s achievements is amongst the major incentives in the education system. The Letter from Birmingham Jail, was a letter written by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. from a very confined space in a cell in Birmingham, Alabama. During this time, segregation played a huge deal within the Jim Crow Laws dealing with the separation of restrooms, restaurants, schools, health care centers, etc. for blacks and whites that took place way after slavery, mostly in the South. Dr. King wrote this letter in response to all of the inappropriate criticisms, which he was receiving from different men and their poor leadership, and the injustice that was taking place (Jr.). He had a collection of information to see if it was true, negotiation with the oppressor, self-purification, and direct action ready to happen. Dr. King had received questions and was ridiculed for the activities that took place in Birmingham, Alabama. He sat in jail for the most simplest of conditions: social and legal equality that were amongst our blacks and whites. The clergy men had an issue with how Dr. King intervene with the issues at hand, and they repeatedly shot him down, but he wouldnt go down without a fight. For every criticism he received, he had outstanding reasoning, he was forceful, and articulate about defending himself in that regard (Jr.). For example, its as if a principle visited another school, although they arent the principle of that school, they still give valid points and reasoning as to how a school should be operated. Theres people who will go against a lot of stuff you say, but you have to be strong minded just how Dr. King was, and dont let what others say defeat you, and stop you from making a well-founded point. His main goal was to insure that whoever argued with him, understood that they shouldve know better, when they directed accusations against him because he wanted an end to desegregation (Jr.). Dr. King didnt just deal with those issues, but also the discussions about civil disobedience. Civil disobedience is another form of resisting the law, and simply violating and going against something youre not supposed to (Bertolino). Typically, they are violating what they are protesting about, like for example, segregation. The purpose of civil disobedience may sometimes be to make an unjust law public. This will force negotiations with certain officials, to get to court where someone can debate the law, or to put a stop to the injustice to an unjust law. For example, Henry David Thoreau was put in jail because he didnt pay a poll tax; he felt as though it wasnt worth and why should he have to do that. Another example would be, not according to the law, but when someone doesnt show up for work because they feel like their working for free, so they get fired. As mentioned in the letter, Dr. King wanted had another focus, self-purification. Just like Gandhi believed, King also believed you should love everyone, even your own enemies. He also, had to give rid of the thought of him hating others. Dr. King relied on his Christian faith, and he believed that this is right in order for him to complete his mission of being self-purified. He didnt fail to make it known that, Gandhi was his model for making decisions, and for the fundamental for demanding that equal rights be put in place for Black in the United States of America (Bertolino). Throughout the late 1800s and early 1900s, Jim Crow Laws were used to segregate people by the color of their skin in the country. These laws affected people in their everyday life by controlling what restrooms they were allowed to use, the effects of their health care, and even educational purposes. Separating whites from blacks, with the assumption that everyone is being treated equally. It may have seemed as though, that the laws made a claim that everything was equal, but blacks always got the short end of the stick. Dr. King states in his letter, that there are two types of different laws. There is just and unjust, one having moral responsibility to disobey the unjust laws. King felt as though, an unjust law isnt eternal and natural law. There were many different laws in Alabama that surfaced throughout, in order for segregation to continue. In Alabama, it was against the law for a Negro and a white person to play together, have separate toilet facilities, no white female was allowed to nurse when a black male was placed, all bus stations should have separate waiting rooms and separate ticket windows for the colored and white, and all four laws were standard. Standard meaning, which is what stands and it will not change. These laws that were stated are very similar to the Jim Crow Laws that were being used before Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. died, which after his death they then were taken away.
